Introduction
Camera angles are important in filmmaking, playing a major role in telling a story by setting the scene, showcasing characters, illustrating dynamics, and establishing the plot. Various camera angles serve different purposes in progressing the story's narrative. It’s important to not only understand how to execute specific angles but also to recognize the differences and the context each would be used for. For example, a cowboy shot recognizes a character's dominance and assertion against another character. The goal of this assignment was to practice capturing multiple camera angles to effectively use them in my movie.
Reflection
Working with my group on this assignment was a great experience. We made sure to split the tasks equally, which allowed us to work more efficiently and at a good pace. Technology was a critical factor when it came to completing the project. We used our iPhones to capture the images, then transferred them to a laptop where we added them onto slides. The main focus of this assignment was understanding the differences in camera angles and how to properly create them. Experimenting with various camera angles gave me a better understanding of how camera angles are used to establish storytelling in films.
