Film Plan for Pitch

 Introduction

My group and I worked on creating our pitch for our future film which is a necessity when it comes to making movies. As stated in "How to Pitch a Movie in Seven Steps" by Masterclass, a film, or movie, pitch is a "verbal or a visual representation of a writer's big idea, usually preceding the writing of a draft of the film." We decided to create a horror film with the subgenre being slasher because my group and I all watch horror movies and felt that creating one would be in our best interest. Our film consists of a plot involving one protagonist, two side characters, and one antagonist. The main character's name is Jess, and the side characters, Vanessa and Lucy, are all friends and work together to break into their school at night and steal the answers to an important test. Unfortunately, they were not the only ones at school and find out there is a killer on the loose. The killer's identity is unknown, but their motive stems from betrayal, resentment, and annoyance. The story's setting is a school in a sub-urban town in Florida in the 21st century, not only would it be more accessible for my group and I, but it would also be interesting as not many modern horror movies take place in a high school. We pitched our film idea to another group of students who were considered the "production company" and gained positive feedback.

Reflection

My group and I presented our film to the other group in a fun and engaging way in order to make them interested in our film idea. As the film pitch is the beginning step of a movie, it's very important that it automatically captures the interest of whom you're pitching it to. In order to create this visual pitch, we used PowerPoint and PowerPoint templates to create a unique design that emanates the horror genre. We also used devices such as school laptops and I used personal devices like my iPad and home computer. After creating this film pitch and presenting it, I feel confident about my film idea and know exactly what kind of vision my team and I have for it.
