Location, location, location

 Introduction

Location of a movie's production might seem easy to establish, however, it can be tricky. Some areas don't even allow filming, even if its public property, especially without consent or permission. My team and I had to come up with a location that benefited not only us, but our schedules as well. As you may know from my previous blog, my team and I ultimately decided to film on campus. This worked out amazingly for us not only because it is the perfect setting for our movie. It offered areas such as classrooms and the courtyard outside. Its also important to mention that we all go to the same school and are in the same class, so we could film in class together and stay after school to film as well. We didn't have to worry a lot about flexible scheduling as we would all be at school anyway.

Reflection

Overall, location plays an important part in film and even plays a role in providing mise en scene elements. Mise en scene is one of the most important things that make up a movie. To recap, Mise en Scene is essentially setting the stage with factors like setting, lighting, composition, hair, makeup, costume, props and set design, color, and acting. Acting like students who are stealing the answers to a test is easier to do if you are in an actual classroom with a teacher's desk and dim lighting. Setting is also easier to show as the film is taking place in an actual high school rather than a set. There are also set design and props such as chairs, tables, projection screen, and walls decorated with school posters.
